I was listening to a radio show called "eTown" recently and heard an intriguing interview with Adam Roberts, founder of http://www.thetendollarclub.org/, a non-profit organization that collects $10 a month from contributors and uses the donations to fund poverty alleviation projects around the world. I immediately wondered what I could do to make a difference in my community (not that I wouldn't want to make a difference in the world, as The $10 Club has done so well, having raised nearly $300,000 so far for worthy causes, but it seemed like a good idea to start small).
